New Feature: Forms now supports ownership transfer of employees who have left an organisation
The new feature in forma allows it to support ownership transfer of employees who have left the organisation. Global admins can now prevent data loss of Forms data for employees who have left the company, or those whose licenses have been disabled. This means that admins have a way to transfer this ownership.
New Feature: Microsoft Teams Will Soon Support Self-Service Signup
A new feature for Office 365 is Teams Self-Service Support. This only applies to users of hybrid configurations. This means that hybrid tenants who are not a part of Azure Active Directory will have the ability to sign-up for Teams. They can do this using the organisations email address. This will also create an AAD identity and allow them to use teams.
Feature Update: Support for Data Privacy communications in Message center
There is going to be an update to Message Center, this will support the security and privacy of messages in relation to the Microsoft 365 service to a restricted set of receipts. Once this feature has been rolled out it will only be the global admin and newly added Message Center Privacy reader will have access to this update and these messages.
New Feature: Yammer Question and Answer
There is a new feature for Yammer called question and answer. This will allow users to ask questions within a Yammer group and either the user that posted the question or any group admin can mark the best answer, this will then show up underneath the question to make it simple and clear.
New Feature: Quick Edit Improvements for SharePoint Lists and Document Libraries
There will be improvements made to make it easier for users to edit their metadata. This can be done by enabling the new features within quick edit mode. These features include; filtering content; dragging and dropping column widths; showing all view and column formatting; and improved user field type support.
Updated feature: Manage admin roles in the Microsoft 365 admin center
There will be an improvement made to help manage your admin roles in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center. This means users can add, view or remove admin roles for specific users from within the Active users page. This will be accessible on the left navigation pane where you can access Roles. This allows you to view all admins assigned to each specific role, you can export all the admins within your organisation who are assigned to the Azure active directory roles that apply to Microsoft 365 services. You can get more information regarding all the roles by going into this page as well.
Updated Feature: Live events in GCC, Go Local India, Go Local Japan and Go Local
Teams will have an update for regional availability of live events. This includes live events in US Government Community Cloud GCC and live events in Go Local India, Japan and Australia. This will be set as default for all users.
New Feature: SharePoint News and Page Recommendations
Another new Office 365 feature is SharePoint news and Page Recommendations. This will help you to discover a new SharePoint Pages and New Posts within your company. There will now be recommendation appear at the bottom of the SharePoint News Posts and Pages. This is set as default.
Update: Microsoft Teams coming to existing installs of Office 365 ProPlus and Office 365 Business/Business Premium
There will be an update to Microsoft Teams desktop app coming to existing installs of Office 365 ProPlus and Microsoft / Office 365 Business and Business Premium. This will mean Teams clients will be added to exiting installations. Teams will continue to auto-update on a regular basis. With this update admins will also be able to disable the initial auto-start of Teams and if you do decide to change this you must do so before Teams is deployed.
New Feature: OneDrive & SharePoint integration with Azure AD B2B (Preview)
A new Office 365 feature is OneDrive and SharePoint integration with Azure AD B2B. This means that integration is disabled by default during preview.
Updated Feature: Live captions & translation in Teams live events (Preview)
There will be a new feature to Microsoft Teams live events for commercial users in July. Those who use Microsoft Teams for producing live evens can now turn on captions and subtitles when scheduling their live events. This is off by default for users in the live event policies, to turn these on you can go to Set Up Teams live events.
Updated Feature: We’re making some changes to anti-spoofing enforcement actions
There will be an update to the enforcement actions for intra-org and Domain based message authentication reporting and conference failures. Microsoft are aiming to simplify the way that anti-spoofing protection is managed. This means that Spam action will no longer be taken as is in the Anti-Spam policy, for intra-org spoof and DMARC failures. Cross-org spoof will continue to be managed by the Anti-Phishing policy and will now change.
New Feature: Admin usage report for Microsoft Teams live events
A new feature for Teams live events is Admin usage report. This will allow Team admins to view the activity overview for live events held within your organisation.
