When starting the debugging of a sandboxed project within Visual Studio, the following warning is displayed after deployment.

Find out how to disable / supress “Attach Security Warning” in Visual Studio 2013 while debugging a Sandboxed Solution in Microsoft SharePoint 2010 and 2013 with the below guide. For SharePoint 2019 see our eBook

To disable this:

  1. Close all Visual Studio instances
  2. Go to the registry (e.g., run: regedit)
  3. Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\VisualStudio\12.0\Debugger\DisableAttachSecurityWarning
  4. Change the value to 1

Then start Visual Studio and the warning should disappear.

The key location above is specific to Visual Studio 2013, for other versions it is:

  • Visual Studio 2015
  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\VisualStudio\14.0\Debugger\DisableAttachSecurityWarning
  • Visual Studio 2012
  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\VisualStudio\11.0\Debugger\DisableAttachSecurityWarning
  • Visual Studio 2010
  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\VisualStudio\10.0\Debugger\DisableAttachSecurityWarning

And now “Attach Security Warning” should be disabled!
